Frequently asked questions

The basics

What’s Wrapp?

Wrapp is a social shopping service that lets you give free and paid digital gifts to your Facebook friends and claim promotions for yourself.

Hold on a second, did you say free gifts?

Yep, many of our gifts are completely free to give.

So what’s the catch?

There isn’t one! We partner with a wide variety of brands who want to give our users access to free gifts and promotions and share them with their friends.

What’s a promotion?

Promotions are offers, deals and specials that you can claim for yourself and share with your friends through your social networks. Some examples are offers that give you a percentage off of your purchase or special invitations to new store openings.

That sounds great! How do I get started?

You can sign up for a Wrapp account by pressing the “Join Wrapp” button on our homepage or by downloading our free mobile app for Android or iOS.

You don’t have to create a user ID or password to start using Wrapp – simply connect through Facebook and you’re good to go.

What if I don’t have Facebook?

Right now the only way to sign up for Wrapp is through Facebook, but hopefully we’ll be expanding our sign up process soon, so keep checking back for Wrapp updates.

Sending gifts and promotions

How do I send a gift?

  1. Log in to Wrapp on your computer or smartphone
  2. Select the “Brands” button (it looks like a price tag with a star on it) to browse our brands and see what’s available to send
  3. Pick the gift you want to send
  4. Choose the friend you want to send a gift to, write a greeting and enter your payment details (if you’re buying a gift or adding money to a free one)
  5. Decide if you want the gift to be delivered by Facebook post, text message or email and hit “Send”

Can I send a gift to a friend who doesn’t have Facebook?

Right now you can only send gifts to your Facebook friends.

I want to send a gift to a friend, but her name isn’t showing up.

If your friend’s name isn’t showing up for a certain gift, then she’s not eligible for that gift right now.

Why wouldn’t she be eligible?

Our retail partners determine who’s eligible to receive gifts and how often our users can receive them. Not everyone is eligible for the same gifts at the same time. She might not be eligible right now because she has a gift from that brand in her wallet already or she redeemed one recently and has to wait until she’s eligible again. She also might not fit the targeting for this particular campaign, but may become eligible in the future.

How do I claim a promotion for myself?

  1. Log in to Wrapp on your computer or smartphone
  2. Select the “Brands” button (it looks like a price tag with a star on it) to browse our brands and see what’s available
  3. If you see a blue circle with a number in it next to a brand that means there’s a promotion available for you to claim
  4. Select the brand to view the promotion and then claim it

How do I contribute to a gift sent by someone else?

Friends who have been given gifts by other friends will appear in your Wrapp newsfeed. You´ll also see them on Facebook, if the gift has been posted on the recipient’s timeline.

To chip in:

  1. Open Wrapp on your smartphone or computer and select the friend being celebrated
  2. Select the gift image to view other contributors and their greetings
  3. Write your own greeting, choose the amount you wish to give and press the “Contribute” button
  4. Enter payment info and press the “Give” button.

The friend being celebrated will find out about your contribution via email, Facebook or text message—it’s up to you. Our app also notifies existing users of each gift they receive, as well as any contributions.

Please note that each merchant decides on the maximum value of its gift. In some cases, you may not be able to contribute to a gift because it has reached its maximum value.

Who can contribute to a gift?

Any and all Facebook friends can contribute to a gift sent by one mutual friend to another. They just have to sign up for Wrapp to chip in and make it a group gift.

When is it too late to contribute to a gift?

You can contribute to a gift up to seven days after it’s been delivered. Adding value to a gift is a great way to send belated birthday wishes or extend the gift’s expiration date and give your friend more time to do some shopping.

Who can see the amount I add to a friend’s gift?

No one can see the exact amount you’ve contributed to a gift. Your friend will see the total value of the gift when she receives it, even if it has multiple contributors.

How many people can contribute to a Wrapp gift?

There’s no limit to the number of friends who can add value to a gift. Each merchant decides on the maximum value of its gifts so in some cases, you may not be able to contribute to a card because it has reached its maximum value.

I want to contribute to a gift card, but I can’t. Why not?

Each merchant decides on the maximum value of its gifts. In some cases, you may not be able to contribute to a card because it has reached its maximum value.

Can I contribute to my own gift?

No, only friends can contribute to your gift.

Do I need a smartphone to send gifts with Wrapp?

No. You can send Wrapp gifts using a computer, smartphone or other mobile devices such as an iPad. We have a web app and a mobile app.

Can I cancel a paid Wrapp gift and get my money back?

If you gave a paid gift to a friend who has used it, we can’t give you a refund.

If you purchase a gift in the United States, all sales are final except for refund requests meeting the following criteria:

  1. Full balance remaining on card

  2. Refund/cancellation request is made within 30 days of purchase date, by purchaser (not recipient)

  3. Purchaser must email support@wrapp.com for authentication from the same email account that’s associated with the purchaser’s Wrapp account

  4. Gift has not yet been delivered to recipient OR unsatisfied purchaser/recipient due to e.g. inaccessible redemption locations, purchase ordering error, gift card never received, etc.

Purchases made outside of the United States are eligible for refunds within fourteen (14) days from purchase as long as the full balance remains on the gift.

All refunds requests should be submitted to support@wrapp.com from the same email address that’s associated with your Wrapp account.

Is it safe to buy Wrapp gifts?

Yes. We take your security seriously. At no time is your credit card or PayPal information ever stored on our servers. Sensitive payment details are encrypted and transmitted to a third-party payment services provider that operates under strict Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS).

Using Wrapp gifts

Do I need a Wrapp account to use a Wrapp gift?

Yes. You can sign up for a Wrapp account by pressing the “Join Wrapp” button on our homepage or by downloading our free mobile app for Android or iOS.

You don’t have to create a user ID or password to start using Wrapp – simply connect through Facebook and you’re good to go.

Do I need a smartphone to use my Wrapp gift?

It depends on the gift. Some gifts can only be used online, which means you can get your gift code from Wrapp and use it online. Some gifts can only be used in store, which means you have to download our free mobile app for Android or iPhone and show the gift to the cashier when you’re ready to make a purchase. Some can be used either way.

How do I know if I can redeem it online or offline?

If a gift has the option to “Use online” then it can only be used online. If it has the option to “Use in store” then it can only be used in store. If it has both options, then you can choose how you want to redeem it. How do I redeem my gift at a store?

If your gift can be used at a store, follow these steps when you’re in line, ready to make a purchase:

  1. Open the Wrapp app on your smartphone
  2. Select the Wallet tab, and tap the gift you want to redeem
  3. Press the “Use in store” button. Your gift and its code will be displayed on the screen. Do this only when you are in the store and ready to pay for your items.
  4. Present your smartphone to the cashier, who will scan the barcode and complete the transaction.

Some cashiers will ask you to show a valid photo ID when redeeming Wrapp gifts, so be sure to have one handy.

How do I redeem my gift online?

Shop at the merchant’s website and log in to Wrapp when you are ready to pay for your item, or you can shop online directly via https://www.wrapp.com/. When you are ready to use your gift card online:

  1. Open up your Wrapp wallet
  2. Select the gift you want to use
  3. Press the “Use online” button. Be ready to use your gift, since you can only use it once.
  4. Follow the instructions that pop up on the screen
  5. Once your purchase is complete, press the “Done Shopping” button on Wrapp

Can I print my gift?

Nope. Wrapp is completely digital which makes it great for the environment! And it’s hard to forget your gifts at home when they’re on your phone.

When can I use my gift?

Immediately! You can start shopping as soon as the gift is delivered to your Wrapp account.

For how long are my gifts valid?

It varies. The expiration date is always displayed on your gift card. Generally, free gifts are valid for 30 days or less. The 30 days starts from the day you’re notified that you received a gift. Paid gifts last for much longer. In the United States, paid gifts never expire.

Can I use several Wrapp gifts at the same time?

No. You can only redeem one gift per transaction.

What happens if my gift expires?

An expired gift is no longer valid. It is automatically removed from your wallet. But don’t worry, we’ll remind you to use your gift before it expires.

My gift disappeared before I could use it. What’s wrong?

A gift is removed from your Wrapp wallet for one of four reasons:

  1. It has been redeemed for a product or service.
  2. The gift has expired and is no longer valid for use.
  3. The friend who sent you a paid gift card has cancelled the purchase. (Sorry!)
  4. Our system believes that you are using an invalid Facebook account or are violating our terms of service in some other way.

If the first three items don’t apply to your situation, then your account appears to violate our terms of service. Read our terms of service for more information. Please contact our customer support team from the email address you use to connect with Facebook at support@wrapp.com if you think we made a mistake.

I received an email asking me how my redemption went, but I didn’t use my gift card! What happened?

Oh no! Please email support@wrapp.com describing your problem and we’ll sort it out for you as soon as possible.

I don’t have a smartphone. My friend sent me a Wrapp gift that must be used at a store. How can I use it?

Good question! The easiest thing is to borrow a friend’s iPhone or Android phone, download the Wrapp app and connect it to your own Facebook account.

Your friend will need to log out of Facebook and Wrapp. That way you can log in to Facebook and create a Wrapp account of your own so you can go shopping and redeem your gift. Make sure to log out of Facebook and Wrapp after you are done.

If you can’t get this to work, please contact our customer support team from the email address you use to connect with Facebook at support@wrapp.com.

What if the merchant for my Wrapp gift card goes out of business?

If you are unable to redeem a valid, paid gift card, we’ll make sure you get your money back. Contact our customer support team from the email address you use to connect with Facebook at support@wrapp.com and explain your situation.
